Apple’s M1 is awesome with some side effect

By now, the entire core technology fans would have heard about the Apple M1 processor that was made by the brilliant Apple Silicon team.

This chip brings about amazing performance gains that will definitely rock the entire tech community. Let’s list out some of those gains:

Check out this video of the VP’s at Apple speaking about their creation.

Apple’s bold move will mean that their competitor will take theirs seriously. An example of such competition would be Microsoft with the SQ1 chip. The software and the processor where just not ready yet and even though we haven’t tested Apple’s M1, the leaks are actually promising.

Now let’s go to why this is bad for the tech community. This means that we are now giving Apple near-total control over what they do or not do. They are a privacy driven company and I get that and respect that, one thing bordering all of us though is the Right to Repair which has been going on for years now and Apple is on the front line of companies trying to stop their customer from the ability to repair their expensive products in any form.

Even the Big Sur update is resurrecting some all-time questions about the tech community but I do understand this to some extent because all successful companies need some sort of analytics to understand their customer and how to better the product. You cannot always send them pools.

In conclusion, the tech community is going places regardless, so we don’t care what Apple is doing to keep its ecosystem closed. If you don’t like them stay away and if you trust them, stay close to them.
