It’s another matchday in the English premiership, week 7 of the premiership with interesting fixtures. Let’s take a look at all the matches.
SATURDAY 31st OCTOBER 2020
Sheffield United VS Manchester City (13:30)
Sheffield United are winless in their last six league meetings with Man City (D2 L4), failing to score in any of the last four. Their last victory against them was in the second tier in January 2000 (1-0). The city is looking to win four consecutive league games against Sheffield United for the first time since March 1930. With Guardiola men having a sloppy start to their premier league campaign and Sheffield also haven’t been on their best form too, we hope to see an interesting game.
Burnley VS Chelsea (16:00)
Burnley have won just one of their 12 Premier League matches against Chelsea (D3 L8), with that victory coming at Stamford Bridge in August 2017 (3-2). Chelsea has won five of their six Premier League away games against Burnley (D1), netting at least twice in each victory. Indeed, the Blues have scored exactly four goals on each of their last two visits to Turf Moor, with Christian Pulisic netting a hat-trick in this fixture last season. None of the 12 Premier League meetings between Burnley and Chelsea has been goalless at half-time, making it the most played fixture in the competition to always have a goal scored in the opening 45 minutes. So as always the match will be an intense one and Lampard will look to rotate the squad ahead of their UCL.
Liverpool VS Weshtham United (18:30)
Liverpool is unbeaten in their last eight Premier League games against West Ham (W6 D2), since losing both meetings with the Hammers in the 2015-16 campaign. West Ham has won just one of their last 47 away league games against Liverpool (D12 L34), winning 3-0 in August 2015. West Ham has lost 21 of their 24 Premier League away games against reigning champions (W1 D2), with their only victory coming in December 2001 against Manchester United at Old Trafford (1-0). Liverpool haven struggled a 2-1 win against Sheffield last weekend they will hope to continue their form and Westham coming from an impressive draw to Manchester city will build on that, so we hope for a good match.
SUNDAY 1st OCTOBER 2020
Newcastle United VS Everton (15:00)
Newcastle has won just two of their last 15 Premier League meetings with Everton (D3 L10), winning 3-2 in home games in both December 2014 and March 2019. Only at West Ham (11) have Everton won more Premier League away games than they have vs Newcastle (8), with six of their eight victories at St James’ Park coming in their last nine visits. Newcastle United have won only one of their last seven Premier League home games (D2 L4), failing to keep a clean sheet in this run and conceding an average of 2.4 goals per game. The Magpies haven’t failed to record a shutout in eight successive PL matches at St James’ Park since February 2014. With Everton on a fine form with their only 2-0 loss away to Southampton last weekend, they will hope to bounce back against a struggling Newcastle who played a 1-1 draw with Wolves.
Manchester United VS Arsenal (17:30)
No doubt the biggest game of the weekend where we expect so much cracker both coming back from an impressive win in their European outing.
Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 13 home league games against Arsenal (W8 D5) since a 0-1 loss in September 2006. Arsenal has won two of their last three Premier League games against Man Utd (D1), as many as they had in their previous 15 against them (W2 D5 L8). Indeed, Arsenal is unbeaten in their last four league games against Man Utd, last having a longer such run against them between 1989-1992 (5 games). Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 29 home league games against Arsenal in games in which they’ve scored (W21 D8), the last loss when scoring at home to the Gunners back in November 1977 (1-2). With so many factors in place and both managers, we hope to see a masterclass performance from both teams.
